About me and my dogs
I now have moved to a small and sweet house 30 km outside Brussels, in the lovely Belgian region of "Brabant-Wallon" , just South of Brussels, a big forest close by, a lovely country site with lovely fields and views over the wooded valleys. Adding to this my garden is very dog-friendly, well fenced-in added to this a lovely big terrace, which can easily be "changed" into several puppy-runs etc. Concerning my personal 'animal'-history, and more specifically related to my Golden Retrievers, as a small girl already I have always been attracted to outdoor life, to animals in general and more particularly to dogs, whatever shape and size. Every animal was my best friend .. I also owned a very nice horse called Little Joe, which I imported from Germany, a son of the famous Holsteiner Landgraf ! Little Joe now enjoys retirement. Our very first dog was a German Shorthaired Pointer born 1973 with whom my sister, my brother and me had tremendous fun. I was 16 when he was born and to get the “green light” from my parents to have him was pure delight for me. Then followed an Irish Setter, which I brought back from England in 1978, much to the surprise of my parents ! I bought my first Golden Retriever in 1992, Quella des 4 Cyprès, an adorable and sweet bitch and a lovely mother. In 1994 Quella was mated to MCh. Waterloo's Rock around the Clock, those little ones were too sweet to resist, and our first litter, so .... I chose the most outgoing one, lots of coat and a lovely head and called her EYOP's Shinook. She went best puppy at the BRC Clubshow in 1995 at her first show, and my own second show. Then I concentrated on working her and taking her to shoots, which she loved so much. Shinook probably is one of those "once in a lifetime dogs" - always alert, happy-go-lucky, an excellent retriever and loving to be shown. I did not show her that much when she was younger, though, as I was more interested in taking my dogs out to shoots. Shinook has field trial qualification and many high placings (incl. CC and R/CC's) in Championshipshows. Shinook was mated to. MCh. Beeangie Jack of All Trades in 1998, 6 cute bundles of fur - out of that litter I kept EYOP's Xcuse Me - "Kessy". She has inherited her mother's strong bone and outstanding temperament. She loves to show off in the showring and loves going to shoots. Kessy also has field trial qualification, high results in working tests and many 1st exc. in Ch. Shows, incl. RCCsand BOB. Kessy is a rather masculine type, but lovely to see and to own. In May 2001 Ch.Tr.Bel.Sel '02 Sans Soucis of Glen Sheallag (“Kayla”), bred by the late Marie-Noëlle Terlinden-Chauveau joined our family. I collected her at the well-known Glen Sheallag Kennel in France and spent 2 unforgettable days there with Marie-Noëlle, her husband and all those superb Glen Sheallag dogs. Sans Soucis is a playful, amusing, very outgoing, yet sensitive young bitch. She has so far had an outstanding show and working career, winning CCs and working classes in different countries. In August 2002 I collected "Gemmy" - Gembaek's Nothing Compares to Music, bred by Marianne Scott Jespersen from the Gembaek Kennel in Denmark. Gemmy has a most lovely, outgoing character, is afraid of nothing and curious of everything. She has done very well in the show ring so far. I am starting to work her and she loves it. Gemmy has the international working class, no wonder with that temperament, sometimes difficult to handle, though !! Very eager ! Dewmist Sanserena (“Sacha”) bounced into our family in January 2004. Sacha is bred by Henric Fryckstrand of the famous Dewmist Kennel in Sweden. Sacha was not planned long time ahead !! I fell in love with her when I saw her in Sweden and am very pleased with her, so thanks Henric for letting me have her and thanks Helene for introducing me to Henric. Sacha’s father Rossmix Rugger was one of my big favourites !! In August 2004 Gemmy had a fine litter of 9 sweet puppies by MCh. Trialer Rossmix No Regrets. The first EYOP's litter in 4 years ! One little boy, EYOP's Discovery ("Tommy"), decided to stay. He has a very sweet character and will, hopefully, be as easy to handle and to live with as his lovely father and grandfather. tom has done very well at the showscene, with so far 1CAC,1BOB, 1BOG and 3RCC and 1RCACIB to his credit. He loves working in the field and has international working class In summer 2005 I took the decision to mate Kayla to Int.Ch. Twenty Seven Charms du Domaine des Rives de l’Erdre “Tweeny”, a superb French dog, lovely mover and super temperament. Tweeny is owned by Jérôme Robidou, but was at the time staying with Bruno Facq and Martine Vesly (“Du Bois de la Rayère’). Kayla was mated end of July and on that occasion I spent a lovely day with Bruno and Martine and their superb Goldens. 2 months later 9 lovely puppies were born, one little girl stayed, of course! I called her Eyop’s Early Charm, a real little “charmer”, wining RBPBitchIS at her very first show. "Kim" goes on loving to be shown and has been extremely successful in 2007 and so far in 2008, winning 2RCC; 2CACIB, 1 BOB, 1BOG and going on to win Reserve Best in Show at the age of 2 at one of the all breed Ch. shows!! My very last addition was born on June 10, 2007, out of Kayla's second litter, sire Dutch, Lux, German Champion, Matador vd Beerse Hoeve "Thad". Thad has a super outgoing temperament. I called this outgoing litte lady Eyop's Going Ahead "Inka". "Inka" has a mind of herself and has started her show carreer very successfully, winning 1 Best Baby and 3rd best baby in show, and one best puppy. Inka goes very much after her Dad, a very outgoing character. She will be a delight to work with. My aim is to breed good looking and intelligent Golden Retrievers - "Dual Purpose" as one says. My dogs’ hips are x-rayed and their eyes checked. I am member of several European Golden Retriever Clubs. Although I enter my dogs to shows and participate in working tests and Field Trials, my dogs are first and foremost my every day companions and best friends !! I breed very few litters, puppies are occasionally available to permanent and caring homes only. Enquiries and vistis always welcome, but please call or mail beforehand ! |
